Admission Criteria
The home specialises in caring for young people who have experienced abuse, trauma and multiple placements resulting in a need for:
- A structured environment to provide safety and stability.
- The management of inappropriate and challenging behaviour.
- To facilitate the assimilation and return to the family home, a family setting or prepare a young person for independent living.
- To provide an environment in which detailed assessment can be made to assist in the planning of future care.
All admissions will be planned with clearly defined objectives and, where possible, preceded by visits from placing authorities and young people. Emergency Placements are not accepted, however our experienced team are able to facilitate comprehensively planned moves over a relatively short period of time providing all key information is available.
We are unable to accept young people:
- With evidence of psychosis.
- Where section 53 offences have been committed.
- Where there is a history of consistent or definite fire setting.
- With physical disabilities.
