Wylye House
Adults Residential service for adults with learning disabilities
Wylye House is a residential service for four adults with learning disabilities who may present additional complex needs and is registered with CQC under category; Care Homes for Younger Adults aged 18 - 65.
Wylye House is situated in a terraced residential street within the cathedral city of Salisbury and is ideally situated for access to all community facilities and services. The house is attractive and well maintained and the impetus is very focussed upon each service user being fully involved in their communal as well as private personal environments.
Communal areas include the kitchen, dining room, laundry and lounge and have all been refurbished to provide a comfortable and homely living environment. Each bedroom is personalised to taste, choice and preference and has private washing facilities, there are two bathrooms and three communal areas as well as a garden which is used for recreation and reflective activities.
The commitment of the experienced staff team is to provide an atmosphere convivial to the development of each service user through high levels of emotional and psychological support through all day-to-day aspects of life. Integration into the community is encouraged through work and educational opportunities as well as a variety of activities. Everyone has the opportunity to enjoy regular social activities including day trips, holidays and visits to local places of interest.
We strive to provide a homely and relaxed atmosphere in every house.
The activities include local college, adult training centers, therapeutic resources, work placements and sports clubs. Service users are empowered to manage their own behaviors and reach their full potential through a structured combination of planning and reviewing which is supported by the team.
A policy of respect and consideration is paramount and all within Wylye place a strong impetus upon social skills and responsibility for self as well as key independent living skills such as menu planning, shopping and budgeting, laundry and cleaning all of which assist in the enhancement of self confidence and self belief. The staff team are trained to a high standard and are qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level Three.
