Residential service roles
At Five Rivers, we create homes that are just like the ones that most children can take for granted: safe, nurturing and therapeutic. The culture inside our residential homes is all about positivity, energy, optimism and motivation, and your role with us goes beyond the basic care and protection of our children. You will also be a positive role model, inspiring them in all aspects of their life. If you are passionate about making a difference, you’ll find the perfect home for your talents with us.
Here’s how one of our residential colleagues describes working with Five Rivers Child Care:
“I joined Five Rivers Child Care as a trainee Residential Child Care Worker in one of our homes and I was then promoted to Shift Leader, then Key Worker. I was then offered the opportunity to apply and be interviewed for Senior Child Care Worker, followed by Deputy Manager, and I was successful in both posts. I have always enjoyed the management side of things and I want to support the staff as well as the young people we work with. I have seen lots of other people progressing and getting opportunities in our Residential service.
You have to be fully committed – it’s not a job you can leave behind. It’s important to be focused on achieving good outcomes for young people, not just “doing something good”; working here is a lot more than that! When you see the progression of a young person and how you can support them into a much more positive lifestyle, that in itself makes it all worthwhile.”
