Five Rivers Ireland
Family Placement service

Five Rivers began developing a Family Placement service in Ireland in July 2002. We now have a number of foster carers providing high standards of care to children and young people in their care. We have grown as an agency and have built a reputation based on providing quality care and excellent support to foster carers.

Our philosophy is to provide a high level of support to all of our carers and families, to enable them to look after children and young people who come to live with them. We believe that each child and young person has individual needs. Each placement is matched carefully to ensure that the child/young persons needs can be met within the family where they are living.

As an organisation we are committed to working in partnership with parents, health service executives and significant others concerned with the welfare and needs of all Children placed with our service.

Five Rivers Ireland offers a range of placements including, short term, medium-long term, parent and child placements and bridging placements. Five Rivers can also offer a service to relative foster carers. This can include the full support and assessment package or differing levels of support depending on needs identified by the H.S.E.

As the service grows, we envisage that our range of placements will continue to increase in Ireland and services will continue to expand.

Fostering mission

	To provide a safe and structured family environment which is able to love and care for damaged and abused children and young people.
	To ensure that families who foster receive the highest levels of support, to enable them to meet the challenges of fostering.
	To provide a bridge between past, present and future, for all children/young people referred to the fostering service.
	To provide children/young people with a lifelong resource and nurturing base, to support their independence and move on.
	To provide opportunities for children and young people to remain with thier siblings so as to provide them with continuity within their family relationships.
