Residential Children’s Homes In Salisbury
Our homes in Salisbury, Wiltshire have established records of working with Children and Young People who have suffered abuse and neglect and who may exhibit severe behavioural difficulties.
Avon House, in the heart of Salisbury, caters for girls aged 10 - 16, whilst Ebble House, just a short distance away caters for boys in the same age range.
Both Residential Children's Homes have enjoyed success in integrating and supporting Children and Young People within a mainstream school setting. They are both a short walk away from our School 'The Farringdon Centre - Salisbury' This special school provides one-to-one education facilities for those young people who have been assessed to benefit from S.E.N Services.
There is a strong emphasis on building trust, providing a safe and secure home and assisting the young people in recognising and building on their strengths. A full range of therapeutic services are available to residents in both Children's Homes.
A UKCP registered Psychotherapist is also in regular contact with Management team and staff to advise and assist the ongoing assessment programme for each child placed. A full range of therapists are also on call to provide assistance whenever required. This support network has been built up over the past 23 years we have been in Salisbury
These Residential Children's homes specialise in assisting Children and Young People with self-harming, avoidant and anti-social behaviours, as well as poor social and educational skills. The therapeutic environment is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. There is a strong emphasis on integration with staff regularly accessing a wide range of recreational and cultural activities.
Children and Young people placed in Avon and Ebble are empowered to build on their strengths and assisted in raising their self esteem and expectations with the guidance of experienced, well-trained and supervised teams.
The aim overall is to work alongside the Children and Young People to bring them to a point where they can move from Residential Care envirnoment to Family Placement. Where this proves to be impractical the staff will introduce programmes preparing them to face the challenge of living in the unsupervised world.
