Our ethos and vision: Learning For Life our vision statement encapsulates the central ethos and ambition of the Farringdon Centre for all students to achieve the skills and qualifications they need to be successful in life and to make safe and satisfying choices.
We aim to provide a small calm and nurturing environment to allow our pupils to relax and thrive.
The educational provision for this vulnerable and at times challenging group is a carefully thought out combination of:
- High staff to pupil ratios
- Small classes
- Individual tuition where necessary
- A curriculum which provides breadth, balance and choice
- External national accreditation including GCSE options in 7 subjects
- A therapeutic dimension to each day which ensures time and opportunities to address pupils' often complex needs, not least to build the trusting relationships that are important in themselves and the vital foundations for more age-appropriate learning and growing.
- Partnership and collaborative working with the home base; whether natural parents, foster carers or residential staff and with all relevant professional agencies.
