Our placements officers will need some key up to date information. Most pertinent will be some basic details of the child and a brief summary of the current situation. Five Rivers will then arrange a resource meeting to discuss your needs in more detail. At this point we will explore the history of the child, along with their medical and educational details to date.
If we can help, our placements officers will devise or negotiate 'tailored' solutions to meet particular needs. These needs will be assessed on the basis of the content of the recent review reports, court reports and psychiatric or psychological reports.
For referrals to our short-term emergency beds, the procedure is understandably streamlined to ensure an early decision.
Five Rivers will help you to identify the best options from our range of services. We will always encourage you to find out more about us by, visiting, meeting with staff and carers, and reading inspection reports.
The next and most important step will be for us to meet the young person and introduce them to their new home.
Our first commitment is, and will remain, to the young people we exist to support. In the interest of the individual we will suggest other service providers if we feel that they are better placed to offer the required assistance
