4 Bed Residential Unit: Mixed Gender - 12-17 yrs

Five Rivers is working in partnership with Middlesbrough Council to provide residential services for young people. The house provides a stable safe home environment for 4 young people aged between 12 and 17 years on admission. Many of the young people living here will have experienced placement breakdowns and other trauma in their earlier lives.

There is excellent access to bus routes, schools and local shops and the busy town centre is only a few minutes away. The home has an experienced and dedicated staff team with a minimum of 2 adults on duty at all times lead by a qualified registered manager and supported by our regional management team. Each young person has their own bedroom and the house is very well equipped with 2 lounges, a kitchen and dining area. Outside we are fortunate to have two very large lawned gardens.

Admission Criteria

Admissions can only be accepted on a planned basis via Middlesbrough Council with clearly agreed aims and objectives tailored to meet individual needs. We believe in promoting the strengths of all young people regardless of their past experiences or behaviour. The adults will actively share and promote the children’s individual ambitions providing guidance and support. Placements will always be considered on their individual merits and we would welcome pre-placement visits from young people, their families and social workers.

Education And Additional Support

Five Rivers is committed to ensuring that all young people in our care have access to appropriate educational opportunity. We are active in working with the local Education Department to access the most suitable local provision to meet individual needs. Our ultimate aim is that all young people are able to access education on a full time basis. The staff team will use creative programmes and the space available to maintain the structure to every young person’s day, supporting them back into the classroom setting. Support is also available in the form of therapeutic intervention or psychiatric assessment where this is identified as beneficial.
