Therapy Services

Peter Kelly is a UKCP and UKATC registered Psychotherapist. As well as practising for over 10 years, Peter has been a teacher, Head of Education and a residential Children's Home Manager.

He has worked therapeutically in a wide range of settings. Having provided training and therapeutic consultation to Five Rivers - and other childcare providers - for several years, he is now the head of a permanent Five Rivers team which provides therapeutic support, training and guidance in the work with emotionally vulnerable young people.

Peter brings with him a deep understanding and experience of attachment issues, and the causes of disruptive and disturbed behaviours, along with strategies for working with them. Peter provides therapeutic support from the beginning of the referral process and on throughout the placement. Peter works with the residential workers and managers within each of the homes, teachers within our own registered school and where necessary within mainstream education placements. Peter will also, where appropriate, work directly with young people.

The 'London Child and Family Consultation Service' (based in Harley Street , London ) also provides support to Five Rivers. It is a multi-disciplinary independent provider of child and adolescent mental health services. The staff includes four Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, all of whom have had substantive appointments in the National Health Service.
