Five Rivers has a well-deserved reputation for delivering high quality training to its staff teams. All new members of staff receive a

comprehensive package of induction training, followed by regular, effective, on-going training throughout their time with the organisation. Whilst statutory training, as required by Ofsted, is provided, Five Rivers offers a range of NVQ training as part of its commitment to ensuring the highest levels of qualified and experienced staff.

Five Rivers also provides direct training in behavioural psychology enabling staff to develop practical responses to benefit the children In their care.

Staff members and carers are trained in areas including Child Development, Attachment Theory, and how to create safe, effective therapeutic environments in which damaged children and young people can have the opportunity to grow, develop and transform their lives.

Five Rivers employs a range of professional external trainers, as well as tapping into the wealth of knowledge and experience within our team. Five Rivers also provides professional, complimentary workshops for those engaged within referring agencies and to those looking to purchase our services.

These workshops include:

In-depth explorations of varied aspects of our practical work with the young people in our care

Attachment Theory and how we work with it.

Education packages, the way to invite disaffected young people back into learning.

An integrated, one stop service provides a cost-effective and successful alternative to young people moving from placement breakdown to placement breakdown.
